It was an incredible evening we had at the just-concluded inaugural quarterly scientific meeting of the New Jersey Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NJSGE)! Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick played host, and the energy in the room was palpable. It was truly inspiring to see such a diverse group of clinicians – from enthusiastic medical students and dedicated resident physicians to our bright GI fellows, seasoned GI attendings, and esteemed faculty – all gathered under one roof.

The highlight of the meeting was the four rare case presentations by our residents, Drs. Panagiotis Doukas, Archit Garg, Khyati Bidani, and Chisom Nwaneki: Each one was a journey into the fascinating complexities of gastrointestinal conditions and endoscopy, sparking lively and insightful academic discussions that followed. It's these kinds of exchanges that truly elevate our practice and push the boundaries of what we know in GI and what is on the horizon. In the end, Dr. Khyati Bidani clinched the best presenter award with her case titled “A Rare Case of Palbociclib-Induced Pancolitis: A case report and literature review.”

Of course, no great meeting is complete without some fantastic refreshments! A huge thank you to our generous sponsors, Fuji Endoscopy and Boston Scientific, who ensured everyone was well-fed and hydrated throughout the event. Your support helps make these vital gatherings possible.
This incredible event wouldn't have been possible without the tireless dedication of the NJSGE board and committee members. Their vision, hard work, and commitment brought this inaugural meeting to life, laying a fantastic foundation for future gatherings and fostering a vibrant community for GI professionals.
This first quarterly meeting set a high bar, and we're already looking forward to the next one.

It's clear that the NJSGE is off to an amazing start, fostering a vibrant community of learning and collaboration for GI professionals across New Jersey. We continue to extend an open invitation to all other hospitals and programs across the state of New Jersey to join us! Let's work together to make the NJSGE an even stronger platform for advancing GI endoscopy both in the state and beyond.
